SeaWeed Safari
Jump in and take a look under the surface, where some of the world’s best seaweed is hiding. The ocean’s tasty vegetables are packed with potential and are often called “Superfood No. 1″—and for good reason. They are loaded with amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, with levels generally 10 to 100 times higher than your average fruit and veg.
Prime conditions
On the “nose” of Djursland, the seaweed has top-tier growing conditions. Denmark might be a small country, but we’re rocking 8,700 kilometers of coastline.
Harvest and snacks
There will be harvesting, and you’ll get the chance to make your own seaweed salt and seaweed chips.
Heine Max is arguably one of the biggest trailblazers when it comes to the recognition and use of Danish seaweed species. For over a decade, Heine has been harvesting premium seaweed at Fornæs Lighthouse in Grenaa, developing countless algae products and using it for his own projects.
Back in 2013, in the back room of his fish shop, Heine had a spark of inspiration for his first seaweed product. A seaweed pesto was born, and NordiskTang was officially a thing. That pesto—and the work with Danish seaweed—was the catalyst that led “Heine Max & Ulrik Trieb” (childhood friend and former partner) to be named Entrepreneurs of the Year in Denmark in 2025.
Later, he founded “SeaMan Seaweed Chips,” which has also reaped a SEA of recognition and awards. With this safari, you’ll get the absolute best insight and education in an industry that’s currently moving at lightning speed.
